cobra limited range

Howdy folks,
I've searched for this perceived issue and found no solution, so apologies if i'm asking something already coverered.

I've just upgraded to Cobra, have not changed any internal confirguration except for FSD now C3, and have only a G1 burst laser on the hardpoints.

However, unladen jump range is only 4.24LY.

I expect I'm missing something here, but can't pick it.

=> any assisatance would be much appreciated.

Cobras mount Class 4 FSDs so upgrade to a class 4 to get a much better jump range

yeah, unless you can find a station to outfit it back to stock, you might have a ship that is now stuck and not be in range of anything to upgrade it now

When upgrading ignore the cost of the item, you need to be looking at the stats in the corner, you will see it lower the jump range there
