Edit: There is now a scaled version of the Sidewinder in the same album. This one should match the Cobra scale pretty closely.

Please feel free to share/distribute the patterns

Edit: Adding links to the uncompressed pattern images and the Cobra 3d model and textures that I made in order to create the pattern.

That's a surprise, good job keep it up.

Is it to scale if so, when you throw it does it glide. If not the landing on planets myth is decided

Nice !!!
Will you be making an elite mobile ? Those dangly things with lots of craft attached. .... You should !

NO! NOT AGAIN! Why must you people keep making paper ships! My printer nor my skills in folding paper can keep up with this! You will pay for this! You will pay in ink! (as soon as I finish making the cobra)

EDIT: Just realized it is more complicated than the sidewinders.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! THE HORROR!! (also very impressed by the designs, great work OP!)

Actually, the downside it that it isn't to scale with the sidewinder... I'm going to post a new reduced size sidewinder later. I was worried about how big something like the Asp would be be if I decided to make one of those. Hopefully the Sidewinder won't be too small when scaled.

haha... yeah, I didn't think it would be that much harder to assemble than the Sidewinder but it ended up taking me a lot longer. I might make a version that flattens out the cockpit and also flattens out the whole bottom side of the Cobra to make it easier.

Wow, it is amazing!

I can't even imagine how you can create such fantastic models.

I wonder if you working on the Asp? :)

That would be nice, so long as it doesn't require too much work to do that. How long did it take to make the cobra, anyway? It would seem that everything has to be carefully thought out so everything fits, I cannot say how impressive this is, however I will fear the day that a paper T9 or Anaconda is made

The total time was about two weeks with 1-3 hours a night. I had to get the screenshots (thanks again to Cmdr Roboyeti for posing), build the 3d model, make textures from the screenshots using Photoshop (...so much Photoshop...), map the textures on to the model, unfold the model in Pepakura, attempt to build the prototype to make sure that it works, and then finally edit the pattern to fix any issues that I found. This is a pretty simple model so I can't even imagine how long it must take people who make extremely complex papercraft models.

Fantastic work... the boys have been working on one each for the last few hours... I dont think I would pilot one tho... there are bends where there shouldnt be and clear gaps in their hulls!
