Ship Builds & Load Outs Cobra MK IV Ultimate Universal Ship Part 1

Hey guys I'm here today to bring you a very exciting video the Cobra MK IV! Not just and Cobra MK IV but the ultimate Cobra MK IV that can do it all! This is part 1 of the video series trying to perfect the ship. I am in the process of making it better. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear in the comments! I hope you all enjoy the video and hopefully you'll agree with me that the Cobra MK IV needs to have its under belly guns too ;)

TBH the weapon placement in the Cob IV is the second best upgrade from the Cob III after the internals.

I would love to see it get a PD size increase to class 4 though. That would make it a beast!

Not sure what you mean by that. Having the two under belly guns on the Cobra MK IV would make it amazing and with the right load out it could be done. Also I think they should be added in since the model is there for them on the ship. I hope to see the Cobra gets a MK V variant soon. i also hope for other great space ships like the Cobra, courier and Viper. The Cobra being really the only small ship to hold two seats.

With all 5 weapons on top of the ship it is much better than the two underbody out on the wing small hardpoints that the Cob III had IMO. I can now comfortably bring all 5 weapons to bear on my targets even if I'm using fixed.

What I'd like to see as a direct upgrade would increasing the Power Distributor (PD) to a size 4 so it can handle the extra weapons energy requirements more comfortably.

Never had a power or power distributor problem in mine tbh.

I don't have any power issues but cap issues when firing energy heavy weapons happens.

Modded or un-modded weapons?

I find if I run 3 small laser I can get PD cap issue pretty quickly. Or if I have my dual med rail setup as well. The more MC or seekers of course less cap issues then :)

What pip settings? I usually run out after about 20s of sustained fire with 3 pips to weapons. It's not usually much of a restriction as the agility usually means I don't that much tot anyways.

That is the beauty of the Engineers. The Cobra Mk IV has always had a cult following and many did very well with it before the Engineers showed up. Now even with some mild engineering one can dial in the ship they fly and love it even more. It is a win for every player and how they play the game.

Yup. If they ever introduce small ship only content I'll be there in a MK IV

When I saw this ship I was so excited to try and get it. But alas I backed the game three months too late :(

Nah, no brandy involved. The layout is perfect for a small mining ship, and if you're just starting out it's a good multirole. It's not going to be a racer or a fighter or an explorer, but it's a solid, reliable little cargo ship to noot noot around in. It's a full-size van. The Hauler and Adder are both like Ford Transit vans, the Cobra III is the hot-rodded Chevy Nomad station wagon, and the Cobra IV is the full-sized conversion van. Then you get into the bigger panel vans and limos of the Type 6 and the Dolphin, the mid-sized RV of the Asp explorer, and so on and so forth.

My personal feeling on why it's got such a bad rep is because by the time it came out for the people that backed the game, they'd already upgraded and moved on to bigger and better stuff if they wanted it, or gotten into the playstyle they'd wanted, found the right ship for that specialty, and saw nothing they wanted out of it when it was finally released.
