Horizons Cobra MkIV?? Help.

Help me out please.


I bought Elite Dangerous on 20/12/2014

then Horizons Season Pass on 28/5/2016

Am I eligible for the Cobra MkIV or not?


I've already wasted more than an hour looking for one. I've just come back to the game since I got my Vive.


This is on top of all the messing about with setting trying to get the game to run properly.

Sorry, no. Only Horizons pre-orders got it.

I can sympathize with that. Its been debated often. Some feel that it should be made available to all, some feel those who didnt pre-order should be able to buy it in the frontier store, others feel it should stay exclusive. Personally I've got it, and I kinda like it. Most dont like the ship, its too slow and cumbersome to most. Its basically the opposite of the cobra mk3. FWIW: I'm personally cool with everyone having access to it. The pre-order bonus would then become to have exclusive access for a whole year, which is good enough. Others disagree though, dont expect it to change anytime soon.

It would suit my play style. That and I'm working my way through the ships to get a feel for them in VR.

If it was available I'd definitely slip £5 in the tip jar righ now.

I am very sure that i have read an announcement in june 2016 that it is last chance to get the MK.IV when ordering Horizons before the end of June 2016 [weird]

PC users are eligible to purchase the Cobra MKIV with in-game credits if they purchased Elite Dangerous + Elite Dangerous: Horizons before 5th Feb 2016. This includes Lifetime Expansion pass holders, Alpha & Premium Beta owners.

Missed it by that much. Sorry about that chief.

I fee ya....I must have went to 12 diff systems to find one.... only to realize it was for pre-order and prior to Feb 2016 only... BOO!

If it is any consolation, the shop isn't great. I suspect Frontier deliberately went out of their way to downgrade it.

As for the exclusivity....I'm personally fine with sharing it, but you'd get people questioning the worth of Frontiers word. They said it was exclusive...so exclusive it should probably remain.

Possible exception for PS4 players who might get a purchase window.

Hopefully, Frontier will choose a different exclusive for the next such reward. Exclusivity for a certain period of time, combined with an exclusive skin, decal or cockpit decoration would likely be just as good to have. Perhaps a special weapon effect?

I wouldn't mind if they make the MK.IV available to all if they give her back the 2 utility slots on top and more agility :D

I'm also one of the perso s who likes to collect all ships. Would be really bad if there is any ship i can't get.

It seems strange to call the Cobra 4 an exclusive ship.
I have been interdicted by several a day last week. Then there are a few every day that just wing by.
If they call them exclusive, they shouldn't have thousands of them in the hands of NPCs.
Bloody ridiculous!

Those are NPCs who pre-ordered Horizons.
