Hey all,
I just got a new cobra and upgraded it some. I'm in Eravate just to let you know where I'm getting my upgrades. I'm looking for a better set of gimballed multi cannons and lasers. I got some but they weren't as good as I got for my viper. The thruster choices weren't that great either. Where can I find some that aren't too far away? I replaced my viper because I failed a lucrative trading mission cause I couldn't carry enough in my viper. But I do like to hunt, a lot, so I thought the Cobra would be a good choice for me.

Near Eravate, GD 219 is a high tech system with, if I recall correctly, pretty reasonable outfitters.

Caveat: I haven't been there in over a year, so things might have changed, i.e. it might now have a player group in it whose presence has changed the system security, for instance - look at the system map to evaluate it.

Burst lasers have better penetration against armour but require almost as much ower a beam lasers so they drain your capacitor vary quickly.

Pulse lasers are much easier on the SYS and produce very little heat. They don't do quite as much damage, but you can fire for longer. They're also effective against modules.

pulse lasers: low heat, low power usage. Good against modules.

Bursts: higher heat output, higher power requirements. Good against hulls.

As a poster mentioned, you could have used coriolis as it's a much easier layout for most people to work with. I have a small fleet of ships these days but still find myself using thE CM3 at every opportunity where it suits. It's the kind of ship that never stops being useful. Here's how mine is set up now:

LoL - yes, I know that now... But wasn't aware of Coriolis at the time of writing that post :eek: I'm still mentally using the Spectrum version of the game :p
