OMG !!!! i can't believe that I tried to talk myself out of getting a Cobra. I had been doing hauls in a Hauler and it had really good range. Built up 600K credits and figured I would try a Cobra. It is amazing. i am thinking about abandoning my Eagle now. This thing is sweet. I can see my huge cargo ship in the future, but lordy lordy this one if fun.

I do have a question though.. It takes forever for the rout maps to load on the galaxy screen. Anything over about 60 Ly seems to load but only at a snails pace. I am doing runs that are 160 Ly and it is frustrating fo rthe rout planner to load the routs. Is there ever going to be a way to save a route once it has been set? that would be awesome. Or is there a way to get the routs to load faster?

It takes ages to generate the routes because it's basically an example of the Travelling Salesman Problem. The number of possible routes explodes exponentially as the distance from you increases.

There will likely be no real solution, because the route you take is contingent on starting/finishing location, FSD grade, ship and current mass. Current mass varies based on fuel level among other factors, so is always changing.

What you can do is instead, if you're taking a commonly used route, write down some intermediate systems 40ly away or so (that routes pretty fast) and route to those.

Go on cmdr.club and plan the route in 50 ly steps, then just point yourself to those in the galaxy map

There actually is a route calculator out there that does it instantly, and says the next system in route when you land. And much better range too. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=82832 You can use this on the long trips until the ED planner kicks in.

Well at least i am on track.. been cutting it to 70ishLy jumps. Been working pretty well and have they systems written down.. was just thinking it would be easier to save a route. But it is what it is... as always folks... thank you
