Cockpit glass filtering

Sorry if it was mentioned before but I would like to suggest an ability to turn of the glass filter of your ship/SRV so stars would be realisticly bright and planets would be really dark on the shadow side. Also it would be cool if it happened when the canopy is breached.

Sounds not difficult to make and would be very nice for explorers and realism seekers. In addition to that there might be more filter modes like nightvision, thermal imaging etc. What are your thoughts, commanders?

It has been explained that there is an intent to rework the exposure/ambient_light thing at some unknown time in the future, to a more realistic model, but that they are content with how things work for now.

Hopefully sooner rather than later, because it is quite laughable when you round a planet, and its brightly illuminated moon suddenly "switches off" like a lightbulb, and not because it somehow instantly passed into shadow, but because you (I assume) moved out of it.

(EDIT: HDR would be nice. :7)

I'll join my desire for a light spectrum filter on the canopy, allowing to see in X-ray, gamma, ultraviolet, infrared, etc, ON TOP of the visible light. Cause often a lot more exists beyond our visible light.

I want to see a serious reduction in the brightness of those FSD's. Seriously, a drive that has a light brighter than a 2 billion megatonne explosion. A light that completely blots out the planet and the station orbiting it from >20Ls away is a bit daft you have to admit.
