Ships Cockpit lighting

I have searched the forums, and I think I might be alone on this one, but the lighting of the Asp cockpit is properly irritating. The large white pillar lights, the floor lights, and this is common to all cockpits, and the throttle/joystick lights are oppressively bright. I find them quite distracting. I'd like to point out that interior lighting of cars never have bright, source exposed lighting at or near eye level.

I'd like to request that these lights be switchable. Please let us turn them off. If the Asp was a real world machine and there was no option to turn these lights off, I would black them out with paint or tape or just break the bulbs out.

I'd agree with this an option to disable cockpit lights would really help.
I personally don't recall much problem in the Asp but wow the clipper is a nightmare!
I am dyslexic and have migraines (not complaining I can't change it and it's not too bad) and the clipper is a real pain to read the side panels. Such a bright shiny dash. I tried raising the HUD brightness to drown out the background but it resets on launch. I am getting a little more used to it though I'd love the option of low glare dash lights.

Good suggestion this. Obviously something that won't change overnight, so hopefully able to put up with, until such time. For me, I'd like to be able to turn them off for stargazing chillouts and for laying in wait. Immersion giving in smuggling runs, silent running.

Made this suggestion a long time ago, either it wasn't seen or was ignored ... Or just decided not worth implementing, but I agree with you, would love to be able to turn down/off cabin lighting.

Persistence is the key to getting things changed! I've mentioned it a few times myself, and I plan to continue bring it up. If enough of us make some noise about it, I'm sure they'll respond.
