Newcomer / Intro Cockpit "swims" to the side when steering

I am pretty sure the configuration is just usual keyboard and mouse, since my colleague has not played many flight games before. Certainly neither VR nor HOTAS.

Thanks all, sorry I've been busy not got around to testing this in game lately, I'll try today. For reference, I'm spoiled, I have an X-52 pro.

X52 looks like a nice combo, I use a T1600 I was using the most basic one available a thrustmaster T-flight very good for the money and I still miss having a notch at zero throttle.

Thanks Para, the field of view worked a treat for me. This has been bugging me for a while now as I couldn't remember how to reduce the 'G' effect.

I do get your point of hands on, this is why I mentioned it's a difficult question as we all have our button configurations how we like them for both keyboard and Hot-as :)

Not sure how my options look different to others posted here?

The change I made was in mode switches -

Ah I forgot about these settings, this could be the issue, I have nothing assigned here like you have mouse 2, mine is blank, this could be the issue. Basically I was using an unbound key and only moving the mouse when I wanted to move "my head". I think it makes far more sense to have a bound key like this. Thank you.

I see you have the head-look also bound to a hat switch which you probably prefer but my method would be a pain as to activate head-look I click the right mouse button which would mean you taking your hands of your Hotas, unless you have a spare key unbound on your Hotas which you could use to toggle head-look.
It works for me as I only use head-look to look at other ships, planets, stations, roids etc. I don't use it in combat as my HUD suffices.

I tried that briefly, then my PC died with a HAL error as I was attempting to wiggle the buttons/controls on the hotas. So I've resorted to keeping at just on Mouse for now (I tried to map it to the thumb-mousestick on the X52)

Ok Thargon.
So un-map your Hat switch by highlighting them Up, Down, Left and Right and press esc. button.
I'll post a vid in a minute of how I use it in one circumstance.
