Cockpit variety and gameplay

Hello good people of the Frontier Elite forums

As an old school gamer who once hung the Elite II Amiga floppy disc on the wall in it's own special case as a tribute and celebration, I guess I should just jump in and buy ED without even hesitating...

However, as a grown up, my time is kinda limited (else I'd buy every game I wanted out there...).

I find it hard to get information on the gameplay features of ED. Even the amount of ships currently available is unknown to me.

Here's a few things I'm wondering about that I havent been able to find an actual answer to:

- In Elite II you could land on planets. How about in ED?
- Can you walk around space stations or (your own?) space ships?
- The gameplay videos Ive seen, seem to have the one and same cockpit view. Does the cockpit and interior differ from ship to ship or is it the same cockpit regardless of ship you're flying?

Your first two questions have the same answer - Not at released, but this is planned for future expansions, though I'm not sure if it'll be a different expansion for each, or the same one.

So far as different cockpits goes, the HUD remains essentially the same, but the different ships do have different physical cockpits at least.
