Cockpit view zoomed a bit in supercruise? Normal?

new player with kinda odd question, searched for it but couldn't find an answer

Q: In supercruise, my cobra cockpit view is zoomed in a little, so that the upper left comm panel and upper right info panel is not fully in view. Is this zooming/stretching of cockpit view normal during super cruise or do I need to investigate whether it's some personal graphics / card / driver issue?

On the monitor / res I play at, when parked in station or in normal space, I can see complete view of both upper left and right comm and info panels. In super cruise, I can partially read the messages displayed there unless I use the SHIFT key to push my view back.

The change is by design so nothing wrong with your card. There is a post somewhere that tells you how to change the FOV file so that the game image is either closer or farther away. I use two computers and only have to adjust one of them. The zooming to me seems backwards at times but they must know what they wanted. I have always wondered why my cockpit view moves side to side at times when the front of my anaconda does NOT! Flex steel? "LOL"
If you do end up changing the FOV setting, be prepared to reset it every time they do an update. Good luck.

No it's normal, supposed to simulate g-forces. to counter you can adjust your FOV settings under graphics in the options.

Ninja' :D

Thanks for the fast replies.

I'll just live with it. It doesn't bother me too much, more so just wondered if it was normal or not. Every now and then I'll get some message I want to read the full text of that makes me then have to use the shift command to push view back or shift-direction for the zoom of the comm panel but not that huge a deal.

At first I thought maybe it was the simulation of g-forces but if so I also agree that it seems a) backwards - should be pushed back not forward, and b) kinda a moot point since at those velocities it seems weird to even be influenced by g-forces - I would have thought some magic tech prevents any g-force at all so we're not crushed to paste.

Omg Gray Lensman you just reminded me what I was reading 50 years ago. I read the whole series but the memory refuses to know what the series was about
