Hello, you guys have made an absolutely tremendous game and we can see all the hard work that has gone into it. I have been enjoying the game but I have a few suggestions to improve the experience...I checked the common suggestions and did not find these.
Cockpit Zoom/Telescoping/Binoculars
Would allow you to zoom the current forward view inside your cockpit, like binoculars. There have been been many times when I am 5 - 10 km out and seeing a fight but couldn't zoom or find out what was happening without getting within firing range first. Also, a zoom feature for supercruise which would allow explorers to enjoy the scenery much better without having to move within range of a planet (and slow you down significantly)...This is also basically a cockpit zoom. This is representative of a technology we already have and would expect to have if we went into space.
Ship external views/3rd person views
We are all flying around in these awesome ships, but we can't see what they look like! The only way to see what your ship looks like is docking in a station. I am sure this has already been considered and I am interested as to why this hasn't been implemented. This would greatly facilitate screenshots and just being able to fly around in third person would be awesome. Again...there is scenery here and we want to enjoy it to the greatest extent possible.
Going a little further with external views....it would be great to be able to take an external view, then fix the camera in place, allowing you to watch your ship flying around in 3D space still under your control.
