Cockpits should feel like the Argo from starblazers

One of the main criticisms of this game is I don’t feel. Like captain avatar and that’s mainly due to the cockpit design—they should feel like the Argo from starblazers

Well I wouldn’t mind having the view of Captain Okita on the Yamato too; I’m assuming you want visible NPC crew?

Or is it the massive YouTube screen on the deckhead that you’re after? :)

Yes to visible npc crew so much yes and yes to wave motion guns on huge class ships like the fleet carriers. And my guy needs his yuki mori

To put it bluntly I feel like the equivalent of shima usurping wildstar and having to juggle both piloting and giving orders

It's not a ship bridge simulations. What you want is a capital ship. The ships we currently have are way smaller and don't justify such a bridge.
