While I appreciate FDev adding the discoveries codex, I do have some misgivings about the lack of some basic game mechanics I was hoping for. Currently the discovery codex is just an achievement log with other commander's first time discoveries added in as rumour or reported if cashed in.
I was hoping for a breadcrumb game mechanic that leads to big discoveries in galaxy. Hopefully it gets fleshed out in future updates.
