Collected mission cargo in my T9, but the destination is an outpost

I collected the mission cargo from the mission depot in my T9, but forgot that the destination was an outpost. Is there any way I can transfer the cargo back to the depot so I can then put it into a smaller ship?

There is probably a very long winded correct answer to this, but I can't offer any more than Facty I'm afraid. Nope. Take the hit and sadly suck it up.

If you own a medium ship with sufficient space to hold all your cargo, you can switch to that ship and the cargo will transfer over.

But if you've done something like load up over 300t of mission cargo all destined for medium ports, yeah, abandon is your only choice

I wonder if you could jettison it for some wing mates to collect and hold on to and then they could do the same after you’ve switched to your medium ship?

Even if that worked ... probably WAAAAY more hassle than it’s worth ...

I'm not sure how this could have happened. Whenever I go looking for missions of this type, if the destination is an outpost and I am in my Type 10, I am listed as ineligible for the mission. Something weird is going on here. Has this happened to anyone else?

You can take the mission in a smaller ship then switch. Though I'm not sure if it should then let you load the cargo but I bet that check doesn't happen at that point.

Yep, that's what happened in my case. Accepted the mission in my Python, then later swapped to my T9. It should stop you from loading the cargo from the depot if the ship is too large, like it stops you accepting missions if your ship is too large.

i'm actually on the other side of this.

it should warn you to accept a mission you can't do in your current ship, but it should totally allow you doing so.

i'm all the time using a large pad ship to collect cargo, finish some of the lpad missions, and than switch to a medium pad to do the mpads.

i'm not sure why the game should be that handholding, and already dislike, that i have to sit in a medium ship to accept those missions in the first place.
