Is there a trick to them not crashing into my cargo hatch and blowing up?

They seem to like to come straight in, lining up a good distance away. I see them sometimes doing crazy loops to get to my cargo hatch (Imp. Clipper).
To help, I just angle my cargo hatch towards whatever they are collecting. Not sure if it helps, since I wasn't having a problem of them crashing (unless I'm very close to an asteroid), I just like to make sure they are doing their job as quickly as dronely possible.
