One more thing to add: the fighter bay hangar can interfere with limpets. Some limpets will try to swing through the exposed fighter dock/gantry and suicide after delivering cargo.

Hi there Cmdrs,
I have some problems lately with my limpets expiring too SOON! After I destroy my target , I launch 4 limpets and they go to collect the materials and right after they come back they EXPIRE...they should be around for 720 seconds! the next batch I launch then seems to funtion normally for a while..(btw I'm at full stop and my cargo scoop is open when I gather materials and I'm in open space not in a resource zone with asteroids) then they also expire before their time..this is the first time I'm using it on my corvette...last time I used them for an engineering mission which required me to MINE 500 tons of something on my anaconda and never had any issues. Before I post this on bugs & errors I just wanted know if it was happening to anybody else.
PS: Not a native english speaker, so sorry for bad grammer and stuff
After the latest patches, my limpet collectors have been expiring at a much greater rate. I have been forced to carry a greater percentage of my cargo capacity for drones, due to losses while mining.
Limpets are tormented souls in eternal pain, unable to die until their contract is completed. EXISTENCE IS PAIN.
If you wish to keep your collector limpets alive, please DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY JOBS TO DO.
They will scurry around collecting things in range in the desperate hope that collecting something qualifies as a completed contract; It is the only way they can finally achieve blissful release from their tortuous existence.

Depending on your position the limpets might be smashing into debris/asteroids on their way back to your ship. I don't think they are the cleverest machines and work in straight lines!
