As far as I know Collector's edition is for KS backers only, who have pledge £90 or more.

Physical DRM-free collector's premium boxed edition of "Elite: Dangerous". This includes all the rewards above, except a premium boxed edition is in place of the standard boxed addition, which includes a T shirt with "I backed Elite: Dangerous" on the back, and a paperback copy of the official sequel to "The Dark Wheel".

Doubt it, the margins on physical media are non-existent.

Despite the fact that during the KS campaign I couldn't allow myself to get the Collector's pledge I think I'd be seriously thinking about obtaining one of the CEs if they hit the online/physical store(s) once the game is released. Just for the sake of supporting the project and having a nice physical version of it.

i hope they do release ED collecters edition on Physical media as i am going to try and get all the Elte and Frontier games on each system over the years and ED CE would top it off nicely.

for me it depends on what's in the box and what else is available in the store, i have enough boxes hanging around, but an A3 ship ident chart? I'd pay £30 for that on its own!

Yes! The ship ident chart was excellent. Surely an opportunity for an enterprising fan and decent graphics artist if FD don't do this.

it could be, but releasing it now may rob them of a lot of ship related content for the newsletter
