It would have to be specific random events written into the game code that require certain parameters to be met, that mean a lose of a system and its' stations or very hazardous system to fly in. Basically the systems evolve over time which leads to unique situations in those systems. It could also make explorers jobs more interesting when they see new planets, new stars, new black holes forming over time. The systems they visited an year ago could change and become something completely different, leading to them having to go back and re-explore that old system to get new data on it. They would receive a tip off that their system has gone super nova, collapsed into black hole, or went through drastic change like yellow star to red dwarf.
Here is Some Unique Situations I Like to See
- Binary Stars Merging Together
- Host Stars Changes Over Time
- White Dwarfs Going Super Nova or Collapses into Black Holes
- White Dwarfs or Black Holes Feeding off Nearby Star
- Planets Falling Into Host Star or Flung From System
- Asteroids Colliding With A Planet or Moon You Are On
- Changes of Habitable Type Planets Over Time
- Host Star goes Through Solar Magnetic Activity Cycles
- Stars & Black Holes Ejects Solar Flares That Mess With Ship's Modules
