Colonia Anarchies

So, hey. Your friendly neighborhood Phisto here with an observation and question.

Been planning a little vacay in Colonia. You know the type. Get away from it all, see some sights, meet some new and interesting people all while trying not to die. As I find Anarchists are more often the Good Time People, I was really surprised to find there doesn't appear to be a single Anarchy system in the Colonia Bubble.

What's the deal, folks? Are the people in Colonia teetotalling, free love hatin' squares or what?

Short answer: yes

Long answer: none of the Colonia PMFs picked Anarchy as their own government type, and all but three systems are now under their collective control. Two of the others are locked (like Sol is) so it would be impossible to change the system controller to Anarchy ... and the final one (Trakath) might not have any PMFs with an interest in control in there yet, but no-one particularly wants to support the Golden Hand Coalition either.

There *is* a Criminal Feudal PMF - the Smiling Dingo Crew - in control of the Canis Subridens system. This grants missions, opens black markets, and enters conflicts with other factions like an Anarchy, but issues bounties and legalises commodities like a Feudal. That's probably the closest you'll find.

Before you go remember there are only C rated modules there and transporting a ship or modules can be brutally expensive, think cr750 million for a Corvette for example.

So try to take the ship with you that you want to have for a while and put modules into storage so you can ship over just the bits you really need. Engineers in Colonia are fine, actually getting good and easy to unlock.

Other than that everyone is basically a bunch of hobo's, wasters and dropouts, I kind of like it

What's surprising about that? Anarchy is lack of government, so all you are really saying is that the small number of systems that make up the Colonia bubble currently have stable governments. I'm sure you could bring some instability if you wanted to...

Nah, transfer of a Fer-de-Lance is only about 100 void opals, so no biggy :D

There have been attempts to throw some systems into anarchy there, and it's not difficult to cause some trouble, to spice up things a little. But Colonia is very different from some Imperial frontier space in the bubble, for example. It's a very compact area with active groups, that are in amicable terms with each other, mostly. Inconveniences to the status quo are usually fixed by the next week by people who exclusively operate in the area.
