Colonia and superpowers...

So, anyone remember when Robardin Rock in Carcossa sold Fed ships? I'd love to see that mechanic make a return, but on a permanent basis. With Kumo Crew establishing a new starport in the region, maybe we cou get some faction specific ships out to the region too? A minor faction to increase navy ranks would be great too, but It would have to be worked in a way that they can't be affected by BGS, so superpower factions don't take over the region and Colonia loses that "Frontier charm"

You just need to put an Anarchy faction in charge of the station. There's even one conveniently in the system. :)

(Or, put another way, if the players have collectively voted not to have superpower ships available, then regardless of any personal opinions on that decision, Frontier shouldn't be overriding it for the minority)



More generally the lack of superpowers is one of the major distinctive features of Colonia - Witch Head / Pleiades / Coalsack / etc have the nebula experience with superpowers. And after what happened in Witch Head I doubt the Council would be keen to invite superpowers to establish a local presence.

There'd also be an administrative problem, to do with detention centres - any superpower in Colonia also needs a detention centre in the region, or crimes committed in its jurisdiction risk sending you right back to the bubble (and/or can be exploited for fast travel) - the nearer nebulae already have this problem a bit.

I gotta be honest though. After posting this, I kinda did realise that The Nameless were probably the best shot, and it wouldn't likely happen again.

And yeah, superpowers don't belong in Colonia. You go to colonia to get away from all that bubble crap like wars and lobbying and Thargoids

Not necessarily. That there's significant resistance to doing something doesn't make that thing impossible. It just needs enough players willing to do it.
