Colonia Initiative - Phase 5 Complete

Ian is THE authority when it comes to Colonia, so I have nothing to add.

What makes activities in/around Colonia different, is that a lot of stations/bases are hand placed to stunning locations*, also the galactic brackground with the nebulae adds a lot to the view. On top of that, you don't need fuel scoop to get around and actually have a chance to get familiar with most systems.
*With the exception of the settlement 'Brazilian Dream', on the plain surface of 3g world around a baking hot blue star. Nightmare would be a better name. :)

I am currently supporting the Earth Expeditionary Fleet.

So tell me guys . What i can do in colonia ? Any profitable passenger missions ? Any good bounty hunting sites ? Any conflict zones? Or it is currently dead region?

I am currently out in Colonia for the second time and it is far from dead, more like the American west, the frontier, but certainly not dead.
I grabbed an Adder, outfitted it for salvage and planetary scan missions not bad money, like Ian said, passenger missions are great for seeing the sites, Colonia is very pretty and you'll make a nice profit. Bounty hunting and the cz's are plentiful and challenging if you decide to load out a cheap combat ship there, I did a Viper 4 with quad pulse lasers, no engineers and scarce high grade modules means learning to fight and fly at a bit of a handicap, dogfights can be very tactical, hauling has been good too. It really is E: D's version of the American frontier. A couple places to check out are Colonia Dream in Ratarii, pretty veiw, good outfitting and mission boards and Surly's Nest in Rodentia, it's run by the Fuel Rats, has good missions and a ringed Eart-like in system if you want to get up close to one. Colonia Hub is like my home on the range and a great starting point to branch out and see the region.

if you want something a little more interesting, check out the Unauthorised Installations near Kojeara 3 and Kojeara 4.
I am going to have to check that out, thanks for the tip Ian, and for the link.

Welcome to Colonia - at last! - to the Nomads of Nevermore whose new Industrial base, Karrison's Landing is now operational in the Eol Prou RS-T d3-612 system.

This system was originally planned for a CEI 6 faction, rather than a CEI 5 faction - however, as it has its own Earth-like World, perhaps it's an apology for the delay.

Hope to see you out here soon!

And, the port is *only* 9,000 light-seconds from the sun. :)

It's great to see the new factions bedding into systems out here.

The problem of outfitting still exists out here generally. I've just been all over Colonia, again, looking for 4A and 5A thrusters, FSD's and power plants; still no dice despite this expansion being into phase 6 now.

If no decent outfitting is provided, the expansion will fail, as 20kLY's is too far to run off to The Bubble for spares.

If you're heading out here you'd better bring grade A components with you because you won't get them in Colonia.

We now have Whirling station in Ogmar -))
Yes - very nice outfitting, and a proper set of hammers to match GCDC's other Coriolis.

The Dove Enigma civilian cruiser has now parked in high orbit around Colonia 3A.

There have been significant increases in the availability of A-rated items in the last few weeks, though, especially with the improvements to Ogmar.

We now have A-rated FSDs, life support, power plants and thrusters up to size 3, and for the explorers, we have a full selection of A-rated fuel scoops and AFMUs. For combat, we have 2A and 3A shield generators available, as well as 3A and 4A interdictors (but not 1A and 2A...)

Awesome! Thanks Fdev! Will be heading out directly!

On a side note. We're not using Discord anymore, We're @ www.ed-nomads.com and ts3.dreadfulnomads.com if anyone needs to get in touch.

Will there be a phase 6 ?
Five of them (Lobos de Loki, Iron Phoenix Enterprise, Bloodhounds, Fuel Rat Colony and Carpe Noctem) are already in place and have been for a while. The other five, plus Astronomical Explorers from phase 5... as and when they realise they've won and contact Frontier.

The remaining factions have been named by Frontier as:
Astronomical Explorers, Blood Brothers, XBB, Sovereign, Colonial Defense Initiative, Akihabara Knights

(None of them are listed on Inara, or on these forums outside of mentions in threads such as this one, so it's unlikely anyone knows who they are ... but if you do, remind them they have a system to pick up!)

Ian, do you mean people have won their place but not contacted frontier afterwards ?
Yes, most likely.

In some previous cases emails from Frontier to the faction or from the faction to Frontier seem to have gone missing somewhere along the way, and it's taken a while to sort out, so that could be what's happening here.

For some of these, I suspect that they were factions which got good but not winning scores in round 1 or 2 ... which then turned out to eventually be high enough to win in round 6 on carry-forward. But by then the player group might have moved on from the game entirely.

For the record, we were *never* contacted about our win at any point. Had to hunt down various Frontier emails accounts and send PMs in the forum, which were ignored for months. So if anyone is still waiting for their faction to be added and hasn't heard anything from Frontier - it takes a LOT to get their attention and you better get on it.
