Colonia invitation | is it affected by Horizons down?

Greetings cmdrs,

I am on my way to Colonia, almost there. Purpose is just unlock engineers in those neighborhoods.
I've already sold like 30 million exploration data to a station controlled by Colonia Council and got my "allied" status straightaway.

Now, I haven't got the invitation yet.
Given that I am flying on ED standard game due to the persistent bug with Horizons, I was wondering if the invitation might be received with Horizons only.

Otherwise, what the heck am I supposed to do??
Thanks!

Eh, what invitation?
There's no special blanket invitation to Colonia (AFAIK), you can go there whenever you like.
The engineers themselves have their own criteria each, as to how you "discover" them and of course to how you unlock them.

Oh yes, the engineers is Horizons content, so they won't appear in the base game.

Isn't one of Mel Brandon requirement "You gain access because Colonia Council invited you"?
Therefore I supposed I would need the usual message to "certify" that.

So... basically I need to wait for Horizons... gosh

Why wait for Horizons? You can run it now, assuming your pc meets the minimum requirements.

Given all engineers are based on planet surfaces, you absolutely need to run the expansion that enabled them...

Yeah, I know it is required to go actually there. I was wondering if the confirmation would, at least, be delivered even if stuck ED standard.
Just to prevent waste of time on my way to Colonia and to be sure everything is working as supposed.
Thanks!

My guess is you don't have the engineers window at all in the base game. It's a major feature of the expansion.

It's interesting to know exactly what problems are you having with Horizons?

PC, laptop? Xbone? PS4?

More or less is what has been detailed in the ticket I posted. I also subscribed one more specific.
Win10, Steam launcher (Mac mid-2012 mojave, 8 gb RAM, 4 i5 cores, standard Intel Graphic card).
Main menu is loaded as always, but I can only play "training". Error 404 "unable to restore you session" or "in your region".

This is happening with Horizons only. Server status in launcher is "OK".

I do not have the best gear for the game, I know, but I worked.

Did you post Mac?
Hasn't the Mac side of ED been ditched as far as supporting it goes?
Did your issues start when ED adjusted the game to include Horizons with the base game?

Some players are really unlucky.
Iv played since day 1 on low to medium end laptops, I'm on my 3rd laptop now a HP Pavilion with GTX1050 graphics, I'd call that a medium going towards higher end setup.....not the best, but well suited for my gaming needs. I'm considering another change soon, though it depends on how my current 3 yr old laptop handles Odyssey.
Personally, though I know it doesn't help your situation, but I see very few 'game breaking' bugs that other are pestered by......the only issues I have are the connection one's when Frontier have a large update release.....but that's probably the hamsters getting exhausted trying to keep up with the traffic.

Yes, of course via bootcamp (Win10).
I came back in the game few months ago and discovered that mac OS playing was no longer possibile (last time was YEARS ago).
However everything worked fine with a windows OS on it. Both with ED and ED:H.
So, given the timing, I supposed that one of the cause might be the adjustments due to Odyssey. I might be wrong.

I always think that this gear it not going to last forever. The game is (will) change, fortunately, and so tech requirements outrun my 2012 Mac.
I am fine with that, but given the support that ticket quickly got I hope it might be something not depending from my mac.

As a sidenote, I have to say the gameplay is not smooth as I see in many Elite videos on the web. And graphic is not so wow.
But, giving the time I have to play, I had nothing to complain about.
Fingers crossed.

There were a LOT of us having server issues earlier this month: All ED Servers down????

But in my case the problems soon cleared up (I hadn't tested it with non-Horizons, didn't thin of that).

Strange that there still sems to be an issue that is now only affecting some players and not others. I hope Frontier finds out what is going on.

yeah I saw that post and others that followed, I think the majority of issues are now on steam echosystem.

There is no "standard intel graphics card", they go from "this card sucks endlessly" to, "maybe you can play a few games on me, if you're lucky."

I suggest the card doesn't support the graphic mode needed by Horizons, but I would need the actual card model to tell.

Ma'am, standard meant for me just "average low-quality level for integrated graphic card in mid-2012 macs".
So no upgrade at all. Otherwise I would have mentioned that. It's indeed an Intel HD Graphic 4000.
I specified that in my ticket in issue tracker.
It definitely stays on the left side of your evaluation spectrum.

However, unless new developments changed requirements since Jan 6, it worked pretty fine until that moment.

Just checking- when you said you have a persistent bug with horizons- Did this stop you from getting the Dweller, Elivra Martuuk, Liz Ryder and Tod the Blaster to g3/g4? If you don't have that, you won't get the invite.

You might say that this is a silly thing to ask, but you wouldn't be the first do make the trip without doing that.

Thanks for this, as Horizons stopped working I had already unlocked those you mentioned and engineered some modules (FSD, lasers, cannons, PP etc). Though I must say I did not invest time on Liz Ryder at all. I got at least 3G (avg 4) with all the others.

Are you saying that 3g Ryder modifications are mandatory for those in Colonia region?

Only for one of the engineers. You need Liz Ryder to unlock Etienne Dorn and for the low price of 25 live humans in escape pods, he'll give you access to this:
