there are many exploration guides with do's and dont's in elite
a little research into your current activity can have huge dividens and avoid massive pit holes via you tube vids and online guides ect
I shall just quote a mentat "the trick to avoiding a trap is knowing of its exsistence"
and thus my first final leg back to the bubble was in solo just in case of gankers my bad I know,and my data was sold at the first available station in the days when you had to tick every system visited...……………………..(glad they fixed that one)
this pitfall was well advertised by FD as is don't fly without rebuy if simple mathematical deductive logic applied to current ship and its cargo value also
if you cannie shrug it off without uninstall its no loss of mine...…………….

Remember kids, effe around find out. I've already lost 40,000ly worth of data before cause I was stupid with a white dwarf. It's my fault not the game's.
It's impressive that you managed to reach 100 hours of gameplay without knowing about data loss on death.
