Colonia Outfitting and Shipyard

Colonia desperately needs a Jameson Memorial like station. I would love to be based in colonia, but the lack of outfitting and ships is the 1 thing holding me back. You can even make it permit locked, and have elite rank be required to access it.

Once Colonisation comes out you'll be able to build your own given sufficient time.
1) Build a chain of inhabited systems no more than 30 LY separation between Colonia and the bubble
2) Expand a Powerplay Power down this chain of systems until it reaches Colonia
3) Fortify its Colonia region system to Stronghold state
4) Wait for the Stronghold Carrier to show up.

In the meantime most things are available at one or another of the stations in Colonia, Ratraii and Carcosa ... and Fleet Carrier Outfitting packages can be used to plug gaps here and there.

Would only take infinity years too!

Bonus 😮‍💨😀

Did Fdev say it should be no more than 30 LY?

I don't think they've actually specified at this point. I think the 30ly distance is based on the one from the Expansion state in BGS, which would be a logical choice. But the actual distance might turn out to be higher, perhaps up to 500ly (carrier/megaship jump). All we know for certain at this point is that there will be some kind of range limit.

So, just around 1000 systems. Asuming you can achieve a hop every Thursday, that's not even 20 years.
Depends on if one can colonize from Colonia as well as the Bubble, which halves that time. And if the Colonia Highway stations can be used as well for the colonization efforts. It all depends on what requirements there are for actually colonizing a system, not to mention putting additional stations/ground bases into place.

Because of how Powerplay works, you can only hop at an average pace of 10LY/week maximum, even if the chain is all prepared and ready in advance, so it'd be a bit over 50 years.

Doesn't the King still have a faction in Colonia region?
No, they retreated. Nothing deliberate, I think, just normal randomness of influence movement ... but since no-one was deliberately supporting them either when they tipped under the Retreat threshold that was that.

It's not about the colonizing - for that, we don't even have the distances yet, and it might be ble to paallelize that one. But the reason for that chain would be to extend a power into Colonia by means of Power Play and the BGS, for which we have currently two data points:
  • maximum distance for a faction to expand into a new system is 30 ly
  • the tick is once a week
So, we'd only be able to expand from the Bubble - unless you can find a power-aligned faction in Colonia.

I was under the impression it was a very deliberate effort made to remove them.
Sirius Industrial there was a very deliberate effort to remove, though it still took most of a year since it wasn't directed by the usual groups.

Kumo Council lasted another four months after that and I think were more of an accidental loss - a couple of bad days putting them below the threshold, and then the following good days at the wrong times to efficiently deal with the 2%/day retreat tax.
