Colonia questions for natives..

I have just hit the "transport" button on my last ship, some underpaid trucker will be shipping it to Jaques (hopefuly more competant than the idot who works the auto dock there, my type-9 has hardly any belly left !).

I've looked at Ian Doncaster's fantastic site about Colonia and whittled the selection of home stations down to the following..

Bisley Landing (Benzaiten)
Bascom's Pride (Diggidiggi)
Mortimer's Charm (Kinesi)
No outfitting and hence no restocking my auto cannons, sad because I liked the look of the system
Robardin Rock (Carcosa)
Moore's Charm (Luchtaine)

Do any Colonites (Coloniuns?) suggest anywhere else with large landing pads that are not planetery?

My second question is are there any instances run by Colonia dwellers ? I am aware that there is a heavy precence of player groups in the region and I don't want to mess up their BGS. It would be nice to occasionaly meet a few commanders outside of fleet comm.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi there! Inhabitant of Carcosa here.

First off, welcome to the nebula! What platform do you play on? Me and mine are on PC and spend a lot of time in Open Play. We're currently supporting the Nameless in Carcosa and are always happy to meet new folks. If you'd like to move in there, just make sure to support the Nameless and we're happy as a clam.

As far as other systems to check out Deriso and Ogmar are all very nice and should have what you're looking for. Coeus, Ratraii, and Kojeara are solid chocies too (and have the material traders for the region).

But in my opinion it's hard to beat the villainous volcano lair of Robardin Rock. :)

Oh, and did you hear we've got Federal and Alliance ships for sale? IF service on site!

Colonia Dream in Ratraii is the best, it has one of the best shipyards and outfitting, it has pristine rings with void opals as well as Haz Res or Hi Res depending on your preference. A short hop (8ly or so) to Tenjin gives you a nearby CNB.

Nowhere in Colonia is very far from engineers or mat traders so don't let that worry you

Go to Ratraii!

With the upgrade to Jaques that's the place to go for outfitting these days. It's also the only place to find the Mamba. Ratraii is also BGS locked which means nothing all that interesting happens there.

I mean, it's a fine place to stay but it's not the be all end all it used to be.

I know a few people who picked Foster Terminal for the view. Pretty good for bounty hunting and core mining ... less so for trade and missions.

Templar Barracks is very good if you like laser mining (right next to an excellent metallic ring) and okay for other activities.

Glad you found the site helpful.

I don't know much about PG use - Open is probably the place you're most likely to meet other people, then FleetComm (or maybe Mobius) after that - though I expect there are plenty of groups which have one (Colonia-specific or not) for their own purposes.

You probably don't need to worry too much about the BGS - unless you want to join a BGS-focused group, of course: the way things are lined up in Colonia means that unless you're specifically trying to affect it, you'll tend to benefit the existing controlling factions, and attempts to change those are rare and generally involve enough people that your own activity won't affect it much.

Personally I can't recommend Coeus, but that is due to some rather unfortunate incidents with the natives making me wanted there 😂
I'll second Robardin, it's close to the entry point, has a fantastic used ship salesman (ask for a certain P. Sobanii) and it's anarchy, which makes certain things more interesting

I spent an entire weekend in Colonia (xbox) in open and met only 2 CMDRs. One docked in Jacques and one at Foster Terminal.
Maybe PC is more vivid.

It really is. It's not like the Bubble of course but I'm consistently surprised how often we run into Commanders.

Part of that might be because I spent my first two years on XBOX, but there you go.
