Horizons Colonia - route?

Colonia is 22,000 LY away, too far for the nav computer to plot a route. How do you get there without flying round in random circles.

The route planner can only plot routes for stars up to 1,000 light years away. So you'll need to plot a route accordingly (bookmark it for future reference) and jump to that destination, then plot a new route etc. until you reach Colonia.

Bookmarks aren't that necessary now that destinations are remembered between restarts, just plot a 1kLy segment, and when you arrive do the next. It's not too much of a height difference either, so it's pretty straightforward once you get the hang of it.

The bookmarks are also for the trip back, and also in case of making several journeys back and forth.

If you freehand your travel though you'll get more discoveries along the way. At ~30Ly jump range, a run through uncharted systems with honks is worth around 10Mcr.

Search for Colonia in galaxy map, bookmark it, then align your current position marker with Colonia bookmark and plot 1000LY routes.

Depending how far away you are, look into finding neutron stars and supercharge your FSD. Then select a point along your route (the galaxy map tells you your supercharged range). If you selected a point off the route, the navigation computer will ask you to re-plot your path by accessing the galaxy map again.

There is a site (Inara ?) where CMDRs enters their routes to popular (?) places.
Sorry, but after doing Palin I will never plote those far away routes mannually.
