So yeah, new chapter arrived, everyone went after VO. I went exploring and finally got to Colonia. Today I outfitted mining Python and went for my first true mining experience. Inara stated there are at least 3 stations that buy VO for 1.6M. Found nearby perfect spot and went mining. Mined 17t of VO and 15t of Grandidierite. Decided to cash in my treasure but nearest station that was said to buy for 1.6M offered just 750k. Went to other two but prices were the same, 100 Cr difference. So instead of 27M I got just 8M. Adding Grandidierite total income passed 10M. Not bad at all, considering it was mine first mining attempt and time invested. Five more such trips and I'll cover Python purchase and outfitting costs.

But inara price check showed that gold rush in Colonia is over. Or I cannot find the spot.

I think it's Ratraii 4, I'm not in the game now to check, sells at Colonia Dream for cr750,000 so perhaps not quite what some can get but still very good returns.

Don't go right to the middle of the hotspot, pick a point more to the edge of the orange disc, I've been having lots of success

With my Krait I'm routinely bringing home 100 tons of cr500,000 returns- sometimes it gives painite or alexandrite which are still welcome. This clears cr50 million each trip. Keeps me in Lavian Brandy

I found nice spot in Carcosa. This system has 2 gas giants, both with icy pristine rings. So far checked one and this one has at least 3 VO hot spots, In system 3 stations boy it for 750k. L:ast data showed it was 1.6M so...

I was also mining at Carcosa, at the same time as you. In fact, when trying to sell the goods, price was so low compared to the previous mining session that I looked into the forum and saw your post. I had exactly the same problem. Prices dropped to 750k maximum in all the Colonia region –according to eddb-

I docked at the station and waited for some hours. I could finally sell the opals for 1.6M at another system in Colonia.
