Colonia

I’ve been in the Colonia area for a few days now and it kind of grows on you. I’m currently farming geological sites and having a bit of a problem finding arsenic. I did end up going to a material trader after about three days. Got what I needed thru a material trader. Btw, I did find a lot of selenium. Cheers.

I totally agree with you regarding Colonia. Have been running some missions there lately and did some mining, too. Everything seems much calmer there and at least I have the feeling that I'm actually working to build something up and not just to increase the riches of the murder hobos. A long time goal of mine will be to have an allied standing with all the factions there.
Unfortunately am I having some business for the time being that can't be done in Colonia. And usually am I out in the black. But I'm considering calling this my real home. … May have to grind a second fleet of all the (engineered) ships I have though, in this case. Because transfer costs (and times) are unbearable.

Having more modules / ships is a great idea as well as more engineers. Having another station like Jameson Memorial would be a nice and might attract other commanders to the area.

Why should anobody want another bubble? If you want a bubble experience, why flying out for that?
I think getting out there and being willing to get back of sth. is seriously missing, is a good litmus test. I think this is what prevents Colonia from attracting murder hobos. But that is MOO .

Not looking for another bubble experience but it would be nice to have something else out here. Mainly for exploration type of players. (class D modules would be nice to have)

Is there no decent arsenic location listed in either EDDB or EDSM for that area?

The last big improvement in Colonia outfitting was in June. Since then all A-rated modules except the 7A and 8A sensor have been available at least some of the time.

As Rick says, stock levels vary - compare the two:
Ever produced: https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/outfitting
Currently available: https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/outfitting/current
...so it may take a few weeks to get a ship to all A-rated, but B- or C- rated will do in the meantime.

as well as more engineers
The Colonia engineers already cover every blueprint in the game (and are easy to unlock), so extra ones would be superfluous. If you want higher grades on those blueprints, then they improve over time as people use them for modules, so if you want e.g. better Fuel Limpet blueprints, head over to Marsha Hicks and engineer some Fuel Limpets.

EDIT: for Arsenic, trading down Polonium and Mercury is probably the most efficient way anyway.
https://www.spansh.co.uk/bodies/search/41926950-0B7B-11EA-8A20-AD2CFF6517A0/1 is a list of the nearest volcanism sites to Colonia which have all three of Arsenic, Mercury and Polonium, which should get you all the Arsenic you need very quickly.
