Colonisation needs the ability to delete construction sites

So I put down a construction site for a station, flew out there... and its in the middle of an asteroid ring. like literally inside a hazrez. no way i'm making 100 deliveries to that place. Can I just delete it and replace it please?

basically: give us the option to delete a construction site and refund the points so we can put it somewhere else instead. maybe with the conditions that you can't have made any material deliveries to it yet (if you've delivered stuff to it, you've basically OK'd its position). Would solve situations like mine, and others where they put down a site and its in a neutron star etc cough.

I'll leave my hazrez station unbuilt in anticipation of you adding this feature. thanks! :alien:

I agree that an "undo" button on placement if you haven't yet delivered cargo would make sense to have.

... but you've got the opportunity to build the first ever station inside a HazRES and you're not taking it? Now I'm going to be really disappointed if I try to build one and it just sticks it nowhere near the RES.

it's an Orbis, so I wanted it to be somewhere scenic, but not THAT scenic lmao. Now I know the placement of the thing I could totally put an Asteroid base there though, that would be worth dodging rocks for.

Yeah, an "Undo" button is essentially what i was getting at. thanks

Bonus points for naming the asteroid base "a wretched hive of scum and villainy".

I built a subsequent Coriolis in an asteroid belt, and I also helped build a Coriolis as a primary station within an ice ring. Both worth doing for the view out of the slot. IIRC, the construction site was outside the belt/ring.

I'm going to need the delete button to function even after cargo has been delivered. They changed the rules and I've got partially constructed sites that need cleaning up because they're counter productive now. I can leave them unfinished forever as a momorial to Beta but that's a little sad.

Considering that we spend 25M to get a colonised system, not to mention the time setting up the primary base,
A delete or modify option of a facility shouldn't be too much to ask.
Whenever setting up new database connections, a good DB manager should always set it up with the CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete).
The fact that we only have operations to Read and Create the facilities shows a lack of UX design from the dev team.

Considering that you can get 25M by selling a Challenger or in other fairly trivial ways the fee is not a serious concern. If it is I am unsure that Colonisation is an activity that should be attempted.

A cancel for ones where no deliveries have happened, yes.
Delete or modify at increasing cost/difficulty before the build is complete, yes.
Deletion or modification of completed facilities while the beta is running, maybe but possibly by request to support or similar rather than an in game button.

And that it isn’t supposed to be a database that we are playing.

Seeing how support told me they are apparently incapable of deleting even a construction site which has had no deliveries made to it (due to a duplication bug) - I didn’t ask for a reason but it’s either technical or unwillingness to set a precedent - I don’t think they’d do it for something that’s already built.
