I have built my first station. No FC! Yay! It's an orbiting Science outpost with S and M landing pads. FDEV did an AMAZING job with the early status of the station, scaffolding and under construction visuals everywhere. HIP 89950 come on by.
I reviewed Vasja's outstanding table work, and it looks like in order to build up construction points for larger pad landing stations or ports I need to build Installations since they do not require construction points, award construction points, and modify BGS states of the system.
So here are my questions:
1) Are installations the most cost and time efficient / only way to "grow" construction points?
2) If my long term goal is to build a tech hub, will a low security state matter? Will a low standard of living matter?
3) Does high security facilitate growth more or does standard of living?
4) There is a tech tree nature to installations between some Tier 1 and Tier 2 installations, and Tier 2 installations require construction points. Should I delay tier 2 installations until I have built my L pad station/settlement/port?
5) If I am reading FDEV designers minds, the thinking is for a solo player that you build an outpost first, then you build a couple of Tier 1 installations to acquire 3 construction points, then you can build a Tier 2 station/settlement/port with an L pad. Am I understanding this constructions sequence correctly to get access to a Tier 2 station?
If I go straight to building another Tier 1 station/settlement with S and M pads, it will consume a construction point and I'll never get to my L pad facility!
