Colonize inhabited systems?

I see that, too. Either a bug or just a simplification of the UI in that there is already "npc" architects for every system but as players we can't claim those.
Wolf 397 (or something, one of the engineer systems) had 6+ colonisation ships. Had a good laugh when I saw that.
When you complete construction of the primary starport, the livestream indicated the colonisation ship would hang around for a while, but in my game it announced its departure in 15 minutes and headed off to the system where I made the claim from.
So maybe colonisation ships in populated systems are marking where players made claims from that now have the primary starport completed but waiting for the thursday tick to come fully online?

Hmm, does that mean that if you started with an outpost and want to build a large port next you can only haul with a medium ship?
Or you can unload your building materials at the unfinished large port?
No, I think this is not related, but it is a very good topic itself. It has been said that colonisation ship will depart after 1st port is finished (or so I understood). Then I think people has not realized that, if we start with an outpost then any other station or base will be built with a medium ship until you build a large starport. Or, on the other side. pehaps the new starport immediately appears as 'under construction' and we will be able to use a large ship for delivering, I hope that's the case.
No I think when you start building your second orbital facility, one of these arrives, which is awesome!
