Colonizing the stars

Can we get a direction forward to colonize the stars ? We have carriers capable of jumping the distance and with open modules that can fit new items like colonizing module, terraforming module, bioresearch modules, colony transport modules. Make it so passenger bays can transport colonists in bulk to startup colony outposts. make a version of the cargo module to carry outpost modules of various types. Make it so the 'owner' of the new outpost gets a financial return for the investment. Can include all sorts of current missions and problems like trade and pirates. Make system outposts have missions to supply or transport colonists to new colonies. Terraforming planets to increase biological specimens, increase atmosphere density and type. All sorts of fun possibilties (non thargoid please) to do.

Also make it so our colonies can't be remotely managed but do require at least weekly management or they start to fail.

Obviously if the world gets terraformed before full atmospheric landings we would be blocked from it so that would have to wait.

Personally i'd love to be able to land on a terraformed planet that i terraform (or another player). But we need allot more bio diversity. there aren't enough bio specimens currently to make a unique biosphere. One thing i'm thinking of is using the bio research module on carrier to 'create' new biology for the worlds we are terraforming/colonizing. Surely there is enough data gathered to do this.

Imagine a world like mars. You find it, scan it, plot the landing and colony zones, then contact the 'galaxy administration' for legal rights, then begin bringing down modules and equipment to form the first outpost. then bring down the workers in your passenger modules. Give them orders and they start building. While that happens, you go out collect the biologicals (not just scan) and bring them to the outpost or carrier bioresearch module. Thats when the plants start multiplying and you seed them all over the planet. Gather in seeds from other planets to make diversity. Gather newly created bioforms from the bioresearch module and seed those too. when the first outpost is completely built then upgrade it with terraforming module (making more trips for supplies and such) or make an atmosphere processing module that turns the toxic thin air into breathable (over a very long time). Go out to other stations and do the missions to bring in supplies, workers, colonists, etc.... When your first outpost is upgraded start on another... more out there the faster the terraforming and atmosphere reconditioning happens. create mining outposts to extract raw materials for selling to gain income. Purchase administrators of the outposts to have them keep going in your absence.

And that's just on planets that you want to 'convert' there are tons more that could use just mining operations, research, industry....etc.
There is just so much potential.

With enough time we could create a path all the way to colonia full of colonized worlds and mining settlements.

Some player groups have already set up deep space colonies with fleet carriers, it'd be really nice if there was a path to making them official with some stations and settlements. Cool idea.

Carriers does not have mission boards, does not spawn NPC and so on.
This is cool stuff & risks too. Now they have roughly 45000 colonized stars, out of 400 billions total. If the players will start random permanent colonization, it will overflow database soon. BGS will be slow, as it will have to process those systems and so on.

How about new CG "Seeds of humanity"? We could use Power Play to launch power specific project to create colony far away from bubble/colonia as an ark for humanity in case something wrong goes in war.
Better yet each power sets up its own Bubble as far away from the others and existing bubbles as possible.

A guildie of mine suggested doing a temporary module base. Carry by the carrier, find a system viable for it and drop the module in a location then construct the module into a temporary base to get minings and materials, etc.

I would love that even more but CG is something we can get now.
I can imagine ordering FC to jump into geosync orbit around target planetary body, then pressing "Deploy" button to drop space elevator module and through it start slow construction process of an outpost (let's say a week of real time). Once done I and any other commander could go between those on-foot using space elevator cabin too.

I like the idea of a space elevator, but all the SCI fi examples are very large constructions. And the FC would need to be in geo Sync orbit which is not possible i think.

Well for Mars you only need around 17,000 km of cable to reach the ground from synchronous orbit, but how much you actually need would depend on how fast the planet was rotating.

Of course with Mars you have the fun issue of Deimos orbiting below synchronous height so potentially hitting your elevator.

Yeah I saw an analysis of that, there's a simple solution, with a cable that long you can set a wave form down it that moves it out of the way each time Deimos passes and because of the length and period of the wave form people on the elevator itself wouldn't even notice the wave.
