OK, while I am loving the space trucker aspect of colonization, I could see others wanting other things as well. So much of the game is always focused more on combat, that other activities are an afterthought, it's nice to see a large mechanic built around sourcing and shipping goods. I don't want that to change, but I could see additions to make other aspects of gameplay a part of colonization without overshadowing or replacing the trading dominance.
This idea is adding missions that alter your system stats.
Security missions that after enough pirate kills, your system security raises a few ticks temporarily.
Pirate missions where pirating civilians will lower security temporarily.
Passenger missions where you deliver colonists to increase population as long as it won't exceed your max. But also, the type of colonist you deliver can also affect other stats. For example, bringing in a ton of ultra wealthy colonists in luxury cabins will raise your system wealth.
