Color change for the color blind

Hello,

This has probably been brought up before but can you please give us a color blind option or at the very least the ability to change colors in the HUD on the console version (Xbox) for the love of all that's good and glorious in this world please?
I'm constantly hitting stuff in certain places/starports, can't even see the landing pad when it's right in front of my face. I hadn't realized how bad this was for me till I was at a friends house who plays this on the PC and WOW I couldn't beleive how much I saw that is just plain invisable to me, like when leaving a port one side has a green light the other a red. I can list many, many more but I think I made the point

Thanks for reading.

+1 for bringing it up. There really should be an option for the visually impaired not just for colour blindness.

They have hard coded user interface colors so it is not easy for them to offer easily this kind of simple feature...

Agree with this as well. It really surprised me when I saw my buddy playing on the PC just how much I'm not seeing. This has to be true for others as well.

I don't know that side of it. I used to be an avid PC gamer till my rig exploded (PSU + GPU) and I jst havn't had the time or desire to do another build so I havn't been reading much about this game on the PC side. Maybe they should consider a MOD installer and let the modding community have at it.

For future reference, when approaching the slot the red lights to the side and on the toast-rack flash (the green are steady) - I believe this was introduced to assist the colour challenged.

+1. It's pretty callousness to design any modern game without a simple color blind mode, let alone game design that takes the condition into account (Green/red lights on the mail slot, why not arrows?) I play on PC, and even then the stations with red landing pads are a frackin nightmare.

I have Red/Green Colourblindness worse than CP3 (Colour Perception 3 is the cutoff for a lot of career paths - so I can't be a cop, in the military, an electrician, pilot, fireman etc) and I can honestly say there's never been a single game I've played whereby the colourblindness option makes a change worth using. I have a few friends, and a brother with the same type of colourblindness and we've all discussed this point a few times over the years, since the option started popping up in games.

Certainly I agree that we shouldn't need to edit our config files to adjust HUD colour, that should be an in-game slider or group of presets by now.

(Additionally, you can manage this in your video cards driver settings or monitor settings, if you like, and adjust the colour channels to affect everything you see on your PC to compensate, not just one game.)

I agree; there should be better options in this game for people with visual impairments. While I have better than average color discrimination, I do have eye issues. Personally, I'd like an option to increase the font size in the game UI.

Colorblindness is not uncommon (~ 8% of the male population), so I'm a bit surprised that games don't make more effort to assist color impairment.

Also, (in case you're not aware of it) there are special glasses which help with many (but not all) forms of colorblindness (some are even designed for use at a computer):

This is a good suggestion, as there are many in this forum which rarely do get implented, though some do, and somewhere above I read that it's hardcoded or something which has lead me to realize maybe it's time for a bit of reverse psychology. If you get my meaning...maybe FDev just cant do it. Right? There's no way, not just FDev, but anyone on this planet can change colours of the HUD. Impossible! Are you out of your minds? Dont get me started on sorting. Cant do it..nope.

This is potentially going to be more critical with the introduction of the Thargoids and their colour-coded lights, where the colours seem to actually indicate something of tactical importance. I haven't had any issues with the HUD, etc., but the bright green lights everyone is talking about on the Thargoid Interceptors look white to me. It would suck if we were put at a disadvantage when it comes to encounters because of this.

I can see the red "angry" lights when the ships turn hostile, so hopefully that will be enough differentiation for gameplay's sake. But if interacting with the aliens is going to involve reading lots of subtle colour cues, I am completely screwed...
