Color!

Yes, it was confirmed earlier today on the CHC forum.
Lettuce asked: F) Will we be able to import custom music and pictures into the game similar to speakers and billboards in RCT3?
Richard Newbold (producer) answered:
F) It’s a great idea but right now, it’s not on the plan for the initial release.

I would not worry, someone will likely enable custom music or Frontier will add the feature later on. Just not for initial release.

Ok, Not the initial release. I really hope is that and not, we are really not going to add it. At the end of the day someone is going to mod the game to make this possible, but I actually prefer it had it implemented in the game.
If not is one of the things that is starting to make the game LESS good. Its so basic, and the legal thing doesnt fly becuase they havent removed that option yet from the platinum version of RCT3 on steam and GoG.

Don't expect to much for darkrides...[ugh]

What? Can you further explain this?
Are they really not going to make vehicles that go on rails, and we can put theming around them creating a darkride like in RCT3 and 2?

EDIT

1) You are a simulation nerd? Great! We know you are aiming for us to be able to have 20k guests in our parks, but I was wondering: part of RCT 1/2/3's sim is that you don't have "that many" guests so they stay like 2-3 hours max in your park and wait for 1-5 minutes for a ride, but how will it work in PC, since there are many more guests? It may break the sim if we have them waiting 45 minutes for a ride, so how are you planning all these capacity/time sim thing? Will we have our games on 3x speed most of the time? I'm not sure it would be great for immersion... (but I'm loving the fact that we will have "true" guests numbers and not ridiculous ones!)

2) Are you planning to do some "interior rides"? I know you may not be able to announce Something thise early, but a lot of people are looking forward to build (and design?) big "interior" rides that aren't only dark rides: think of Toy Story Mania, Soarin', walkthroughs... and dark rides, obviously!

1. We’re aware that we need to make sure the park sim operates under the conditions of such a large crowd. Of course, the park population is heavily determined by what the player has placed in their park to start with, and it is crucial to balance the influx of guests sensibly based on the park contents and ride capacities. The simulation is powerful enough to support very large crowds, but attracting them into a park in the first place is going to be a challenge for the players.
2. Interior rides are exciting to the team and something we'd like to do but we're not sure if we have time to do in the initial release.

Is this answer the question??? :)

What the....
Somebody needs to ask if they mean that they are not going to build their own darkrides, something I honestly dont want them to do or waste their time, or they are really not going to add omnimovers and other slow vehicles on simple tracks you had in RCT3 and 2 and build scenery around them.

They should allow a Full 255 RGB palette.

They should also allow us to customize the color of the paths, trees, store items (i.e. balloons), special effects (lighting: this was in a previous game made by Frontier). Also if they allow us to customize the color of the lighting they would only have to have one spotlight in the menu rather than having multiple spotlights with the only difference being different color.

I'm just happy that you can turn the ride music off, as the same tune(s) over & over gets really annoying. I'd much rather be able to add my own music & change it when I'm bored of it.

I would love to see a color wheel or palette for the coasters in planet coaster. I know in RCT3 there were very limited options in term of colors that you could choose for your coasters, and I would like to see more customization in this area. The ability to match the colors of specific coasters in real life and recreate them would be very awesome. Also, the option to color specific pieces of track would also be helpful. Something like Top Thrill Dragster which uses alternating white and red track would be much easier to recreate realistically if you had the ability to color individual pieces of track.

You can pick different colors for different section of track currently... Or am I not understanding the suggestion here?

But yes, A FULL RGB color wheel would be very nice!

You can? I never noticed that... Huh.

So you could in theory paint a Coaster like they did with Lost Gravity?

If you select the individual sections of track, you can then choose the colors for that section alone.
So yes, to answer your question, you can make the track like Lost gravity!
