I know for the most part, a lot of people don't want more "clones." I get it, too. Birds have hardly scratched the surface, there are TONS of insects, and even reptiles are underrepresented. Although I wouldn't care about any more reptiles haha. However, I am a mammal lover and I think part of a realistic zoo building experience would include having multiple types of zebra or giraffe to choose from. Even I will admit we don't need so many clones, but don't you have to agree playing with the same zebras gets old?
So, finally, to my suggestion:
More intraspecies variety. The colormorphs are amazing and imo expansions on that are always welcome! Others in the forum have talked about horn/antler variation and different fur types. I think those are perfectly plausible. I don't know programming, but maybe even slight proportion differences are possible too? Like a desert version of the Red Fox with thinner fur and longer ears and legs. They could interbreed so offspring could inherit the traits. That would be awesome!
For colormorphs I think could add variety even if they aren't common:
African Wild Dog: there are individuals whom mostly lack yellow (kind of melanistic) or black (no eumelanin?) in their coat. The yellow ones look like dholes whilst the black are sleek.
Arctic Wolf: a grey (timber) form to represent natural inter-subspecies hybrid that occur in the far south of Arctic wolf habitats.
Bactrian Camel: isn't the in-game form domesticated? I'm sure white and black forms are possible.
Bengal Tiger: a darker form with broad stripes to represent interbreeding with P t. sondaica, which are way more unique genetically than the Siberian tiger. I know that interbreeding isn't ethical but it occurred in the past before SSPs and the game can be more fun with the idea of rare genes.
Dall Sheep: a stone sheep form!
Dhole: piebald enough to expand on its white markings
Dingo: a black and tan
Maned Wolf: a melanistic individual was recorded in the literature.
Wild Water Buffalo: they are the ancestor of a variable breed.
