Colour Banding - Desktop & CV1

For a while now, I have had colour banding issues with Elite Dangerous, but I mitigated the issue by using EDFX, which worked a treat.
However, I have recently received my Rift CV1 and it seems EDFX doesn't seem to work with that.

I have an Asus XB280HK 4k screen and am using 980 TI's, connected via display port.

I did a search, but never really came up with anything, other than checking output colour depth, which is set at 8bpc (the only option), colour depth is Highest (32-bit) and output colour format is RGB, Full dynamic range.

I have tried installing the colour profile for my monitor, calibrating the gamma (in windows) and adjusting the in-game gamma to no avail.

Basically, the gradients can be seen when flying around bright objects / stars, its also present in the background and on the loading logo where it looks absolutely terrible.

Does anybody have any ideas? I took a fairly long break from ED, but I don't recall it looking like this (pre horizons).
I only used EDFX recently to try and work around it, and whilst that worked a treat, it also lost a bit of detail in the process.

Edit: I never posted it before, because I thought it may just be my monitor.. but now the CV1 is doing the same, I'm thinking its something else.

Same thing here. 980ti through HDMI to 1080p monitor. I am not sure but i think the issue became apparent after i upgraded to win 10. I have tried the same things you have and also used DVI/VGA cables but no solution yet.

I wonder if it is a Win 10 issue.. hmmm
I was using 7 when I first got ED (premium beta) and moved up to 8, but 10 is new(ish) to the equation, since I only recently started playing again.
