Colours in DSS

Dear lovely people at Frontier,

One of the things I love about ED, is that as a colour blind human I have no issues with any of the colour schemes - there is shed loads of contrast. This is an excellent thing. Thank you.

BUT (and its quite a big BUT), the new DSS heat map is almost impossible to interpret. As there are two different types of blue (I think), they kind of merge into one. It really is pretty much pot luck whether I find a Exobiology site or something that leaves me wandering around for ages...

Is there any way this could be looked at? The contrast in the rest of the game is brilliant and this section does appear to be cut off...

Can you help - please?

yea I too have dichromatic vison ;) yea I thinks its just one shade of blue too?
its shades of green/red I have trouble with identifiying between them its those that look the same to me

As far as I know I'm not colour blind and I have trouble with the DSS heat map thing to find things on planets as the colour looks the same to me like there's just one thing there when in fact the indicator shows there's 3 things there. Perhaps it just needs some tweaks.

FDEV have stated that it’s not a heat map, it’s just one shade of blue. It was changed during alpha because the heat map idea was “too confusing.” I have a link to the official statement on my other machine. If you want proof I can fetch it later.

Oh, i've read the title as Colors in FSS... so yea, nvm me (but those colors are really off compared with the fss colors in horizons)

So imagine ourselves 1000+ years (or so in the future), we have the tech to travel between the stars with relative ease, but not the tech to make the DSS be a useable thing?

Hmmm...

I have no objection to the hunting for life while down on the planet, but I want to know I am roughly in the right place. Several times I've gone down to a planet and nothing...

Frustrating.

I suspect that changing this would not be difficult, and now its the opposite of confusing as in unusable.

Have submitted ticket to Frontier - fixing this will make it more usable for all of us, not just those with a disadvantage.
The issue is considered fixed. Did you not see the link I posted above? Another issue won't matter, it will be considered a duplicate.

You might be missing the point as far as accessibility is concerned.

1. I did see it - this is why I've posted a ticket.
2. It is not a duplicate
3. Most organisations crap their pants when accessibility is mentioned

I won't be doing any more exobiology until either my eyes develop the ability to see all shades of blue or until they make it more accessible. So either way it doesn't matter.
