Combat Anaconda Help

I have a mini star destroyer now but I'm not sure how to use it. Should I deck it out with turrets? Or should I just go for gimballed beams and try to instantly dps down targets? A combination? I have no idea. I guess I'll post as I find what works for me, but advice would be appreciated. I tried trading but I can't find these magical trade routes where people make $5k profit per ton of cargo

mine took some research and lots of trial and error ... but once it all worked out ... my goodness is it worth it man

bravo on the cash making btw .... I would not even touch an Anaconda with less than 250-300 million (for combat version that is)... you must be doing something right..... the mods alone without even buying weapons brings the ship cost up to 250-275 million

Right now it seems like a python but more, as the maneuverability seems about the same. And you're right: those modules are expensive. But they're also super powerful. What kind of commodities do people trade for huge profit? Where I'm at in the galaxy the best option is to bring metals to a high tech system. In a good run I can pull $800-$1000 profit per ton. I'd do more research but actually docking at stations takes forever. It'd be better if I could see the commodities market from the galaxy map instead of just what's imported and exported. Often times what's imported is in low demand at the target system, making it kind of useless imo

I just realized I may be one of the first ones on xbox to even have an anaconda, so derp

I agree, i've been trying to find a good trade run for a few days and i've found the trade data useless. Dont know, I might be missing something. I have noticed that different economy types can give you a good indication as to what the have/want, but i'm making 170K at best running Pallidium from Refinery/Extraction worlds, and another 170K running back with Imperial slaves from Industrial Stations

I'd have to do that a million times to get enough for an Anacoda though, well done. How did you rack up the credits?

Numerous other people have had them for a bit already I could've had one a while ago but chose the Python instead not to be a buzz kill though cuz your certainly ahead of the curve unlike most

I've had mine for a few days and saw two others before that, quite a few have a conda now

Turreted pulses should be good tho

Wait, let me get this straight. You have a "Conda" and you haven't grasped trading affectively? Ok lets assume you've saved all that CR through hundreds of hours bounty hunting, id assume then that you have grasped combat even in the slightest. Not trying to be rude. Just wondering.

If in your shoes, which I don't plan to be ever. The conda is a lumbering oaf. Turn speed slow, boost speed slow, shields high, armor high.

So as a rule, I would consider turrets, they do less damage but technically they will be doing more overall damage over time, more time in crosshairs.

Google search elite dangerous trade guide there is a kind gent that made a nice app for BEGINNERS. It was great when I started playing this back in beta, though learning the markets and buying data is how you find those sweet trade routes. But most don't like putting the extra effort in to figure it out. Google wins again.

I've put in tens of hours of bounty hunting, not hundreds. I know how combat works in a vulture, not an anaconda

Those trading calculators don't work well. Their databases are updated by players and where I'm at in the galaxy data is either out of date by months or is nonexistant. The only thing to grasp for trading is buy low sell high and right now I don't feel like moving hundreds or thousands of Ly to get to where data on sites like eddb are up to date, nor do I feel like docking at every damn station just to look at the commodities market in the hopes that their prices are lower than somewhere else

Update:

I've been using a combination of gimballed pulses and bursts to nearly instakill small ships at res'. I think I'll have to save up for a larger power plant and shield generator to properly take on large ships. Once you can effectively play with friends I can take on the role as gunboat.

If the federal corvette ever comes I'll definitely trade in this anaconda for one

You do not have anywhere NEAR the amount of money invested in the build I saw you post online bro.... combat Anaconda is about 325 million and thats kinda cheap.... for all the bells and whistles you are talking about a lot more.... tbh I would trade it in for something you can properly outfit

Lolol wait what "tens of hours"? For one that don't even make sense and two most of us have about 100 times your amount of game time at this point and still would just barely have the money to afford a combat kit Anaconda so either you've got the ship name wrong or there's something fishy afoot here though I don't see why anyone would ask how to build a ship if they didn't have it but idk these days ain't gonna call you a liar cuz i dont know you but that kinda money isn't easy to make and certainly even harder to make doing only BH and not trading since currently trading is the best and fastest way to make money in the game as I would assume is common consensus especially because I know how to make good money in this game and I would just barely be a little over the 325k it would take to make a combat conda and I play this game a minimum of about 10 hours a day so idk you sure you didn't buy a Cobra instead of an Anaconda lol

Edit: and if you did get a conda and only put gimballed weapons on it pretty much every single other ship besides probably the heavy cargo ships is gonna get right behind you and eat you like a fat can of sardines

here is a beginner tip ... and I don't know why I have to tell someone with an Anaconda this .. but turreted weapons are needed .. otherwise like DsG said you are going to get obliterated.... and btw turreted decent level weapons are like 15-25 million and up (each)

No they aren't

No they aren't

Outfitting .... lets see... ah yes Large hardpoint Beam laser turreted ... price 19,399,600..... ok cannon 16.2 million .... I am not saying you have to get turreted weapons... but if you want decent ones they are going to cost a ton.... only a COMPLETE IDIOT would ever take an Anaconda head on .... so you are probably going to be fighting something behind you or at best on the side of you .. but whatever floats you boat bro

Or ya know just put gimballed and fixed weapons on it just make sure you let me know when you have a haul full of rares so I can park my Python in your blind spot and Jack it for everything it's worth while you continue shooting straight forward lol

I have an Anaconda.

Beams are pointless and nobody should use them, so pulses are only 500k turreted.

This is exactly what I was pointing out. No bounty hunting in a vulture no less will rack you 146mil in just a few dozen hours. I call because I've been playing this game since early beta PC. Money is easier now than back than but not that easy. I have a fully kitted python, ASP and type 9. I pull 6.5 mil an hour with my type 9. Every one here knows that for weeks now res have been light on the ships that can give you hundreds of thousands. And even then you are talking 100's of hours to fully kit a conda

Great call sir. No we don't need to call him a liar. But I can easily, right this second show my fully kitted ships. I wonder can this person do the same. Man he must be at least dangerous on his kill rank I'm master at 80 mil Cr. That's a lot of kills son and well over a hundred hours.

This guy is saying he doesn't want to take the time to figure out trading. See this is obviously not the game for you. Its all about discovery with that finding the best trades, testing ships, and weapon configs. But I guess the new way is just find some dude that did all the work for you and pick his brain.

I just really don't get what the point would be to saying you have something that you don't especially because whIle it's an impressive ship it's not the one most people seem to want or like and if someone ever finds you in open play and doesn't see you flying it they are gonna lol so hard.

Did a little more research to see if something had changed in the port over to xb1 and noooope it hasn't. Every decent conda build for people who don't hide in solo has 2 large turreted beam lasers..... You may have an Anaconda.... Doesn't mean you know about it though
