For those that where wondering what they are for as I only just started to do then and I've been playing since day one it for the conflict zones when you enter one bring up your system tab and go to the function tab and the top selection should be pick a side select one and then the other side turns red and you get a bounty every ship you destroy based on the size of the ship then once your done head to a station of the same side you choose go to contacts then combat bonds and claim credIts

Thanks, had no idea what that was for, I wish the tutorial would explain thing like this, seems to concentrate on combat training though..
How much is a combat bond worth in comparison to say a bounty on a similar ship?
Bonds stay the same, a python 52,000, conda 72,000. Thing about wanted bounties is it can vary, and with npc most commonly is higher the higher lvl, conflicts have higher risk, but pay out more regular due to constant ships.
