Combat community goal in banki

Ive just earned 500k in half an hour in a high intensity zone. Still feels weird as the only reason I've popped the annacondas and pythons with my 2xburst is that theres a capital class ship pouring fire onto them too. Its fun and all and its still not on par with trading for earnings but I still cant shake the feeling im exploiting kills here.. I should point out I'm going out of my way to hit as much as poss

EDIT: I'm in a Cobra.. mainly A rated internals but still just a Cobra. No hull upgrades

Where is the capital ship? I might have to try this - could use some cash before it gets fixed :)

I spent about 10 or so hours and earned close to 8 million. I quit after the 4th time everyone turned red on me. First time I lost my 9 million re-buy python and attributed it to my mistake. The other 3 times I was being so careful that in no way could friendly fire yet they still turned on me. Two of them was during a pause waiting for enemy to warp in and absolutely no firing going on. A bit buggy. So all in all I lost about 1 million.

Third planet, head towards it and two high intensity zones will show up. Not sure which is which, I always go for closest and a cap ship is either there or turns up when i do

I've been doing combat bonds and warzone BB missions in Banki since the community goal started. I've been fighting for the Banki Gold Gang the entire time. I take several BB warzone missions at once and head out to the war zone. Sometimes I'll even come in a bit early (for example, you need 9 kills but only get 5) to refuel and rearm and pickup another few missions or so before heading back out and completing the mission(s).

So far, they've all completed successfully for me and have added rep appropriately. I only take BB missions assigned from the side I'm fighting for (or ones that are Neutral such as the Banki Union). I'm allied with the Banki Gold Gang, friendly with the Banki Union, friendly with the Feds, and neutral with the Banki Advanced Gold or whatever the other opposing faction is.

From what I'm reading, experiences seem to differ here so I figured I'd add my own experiences. Or maybe I'm missing the point of the post?

Edit: Avoiding a double post, I have seen a few instances where I did significant hull damage to a ship that an NPC was firing on, didn't kill it (the NPC did), but didn't get the credit for the kill. On other instances, I've done a small amount of hull damage to a ship and an NPC killed it 10 seconds later and I GOT the credit for it. So maybe that's a bug?

If you are in a Cobra or smaller then go to the HIGH INTENSITY combat zone. IT IS SAFER BY FAR. I know it sound wrong but it is right. The high intensity zone is way way way safer than the low intensity zone. WHY you ask???? EZ in the high intensity zone you have more friends. If you get low or get attacked just fly next to a friend and soon the ship is no longer attacking you.

Go to the low intensity zone and guess what you have only a couple friendly ships... and you get PvP folks picking the other side and attacking you. Also the ships spawn in really slow. I believe the intent was to make the low intensity zone for noobs and beginners to ease into combat however the exact opposite is true. In the low zone my time to death was very fast. I died three times to PvP action. That is great is you want PvP action however, I was there for the community goal and just wanted PvE.

So I said screw the low intensity zone and went to the high intensity zone and I did not die once and made 150k in 15 to 30 mins. The only issue with the high intensity zone is to make darn sure you don't hit a FRIENDLY ship that will make your radar turn entirely RED, that is bad. IF that happens, get out of the zone as fast as possible.

So in conclusion, Low intensity = death and very high PvP if you want that kinda of action and High intensity = EZ PvE credits and fun community goal.

You are a moron if you go to the high intensity zone and pick the opposite faction as you will die very fast to the 35 cobras there not to mention the capital ship there. So PvP is not going to happen in the High intensity zone.

Learn from my mistakes.

I spent 2 hours last night in the low intensity zone - earned around 300k (took down quite a few elite vipers and a couple of anacondas in my cobra) and was pretty pleased with myself. Went to cash and noticed some cmdrs had earned more than 30 million towards the goal!?
I can't see how it's possible. What ship? How many hours? Boggles the mind . . .

Edit: sorry should have read previous page - did not realise you could just "tag" a ship and move on . . . doesn't sound like much fun to me. Still . . . 30 mil must have taken a while.

It really wouldn't have taken that much time. Just sit in solo like they suggested. Tag every single ship you can see and run away out of range. Wait for them to blow up and your bonds to accumulate. Rinse repeat. lame.

I spent a couple hours in solo there tonight, and this doesn't work. If I didn't chase down the ship I didn't get the kill in the vast majority of cases.

Not sure how others are getting the kill when all they do is tag because it doesn't work for me either. I have to take a ton of their hull down or entire power plant to get it. I tried just taking a few points then letting Ai do the rest without staying in pursuit and I wouldn't get it. I have also noticed if i am working on a subsystem and Ai is working on the hull and the Hull went before subsystem I wouldn't get it.

Im not getting my credits added to my total when I cash them in at the station. My total has been stuck on 16000credits for the past four or five trips between combat zone and station.

Khasiri has tier 8 reached btw, 20% outfitting discount for 7 days + the dock is pretty well stocked with good modules. Top commander got 5M, 5% got 1M, 15% got 500k (which is where I'm at)

Edit: Well the discount reward doesn't work. Ticket time...

Anybody know what happened with the mission? When I stopped last night we had over a day to go, and I log in just now and it is listed as "Complete", riiiight before it could hit Tier 7.

Is it bugs? Did somebody throw the switch early either on accident, or on purpose in the off chance people earned the 500 million needed to go from T7 to T8 in the last day? What is going on here?

EDIT: I'm seeing a news story saying the pilots in Banki won. So.... Good job everybody I guess, didn't even need to reach T7 to accomplish the community goal? No listing of the "Top Five Pilots" anywhere in the news though, I guess now that it's all over it doesn't matter who was doing the best (Hint: Not me, I never quite broke 1 million).

EDIT Two: Hah, the Gold Gang still owns the station.

Yep, the Federation claims victory but it's pretty much all lies.
