Combat difficulty.

Yesterday, after playing for hrs, I got an interdiction attempt.
I love getting interdicted, it happens so rarely now, so I powered down ready for a fight..................... and in horror ended up looking down the throat of a python in my little sidewinder.

Like the hero I am I ran..... fast! and escaped just about.... and it was great!.

however aside from when against a crazily unmatched foe 1 vs 1s are generally pretty simple. Even at USSs as a rule even when there are 3 wanted ships, they usually wait politely whilst you take them out 1 at a time. The only other time I had to run was where I was a bit over confident against a Master cobra pilot with a tooled up ship and I didnt want to risk my exploration data.

Dont get me wrong, I do NOT want the "every bad guy in the universe" against me like in the original game, I do think it would be nice if sometimes we got 2 or 3 ships attacking together, esp in interdictions.

What do you guys think? I reckon even a trio of sidewinders would be something to think about if they were flying as a team. I dont want it every time, just the threat of it would be nice.

What do you guys think?

I'm not sure it doesn't already happen, but in the interdiction case it would make sense to me if you had one ship that interdicted you and then so long afterwards his mates catch up and join in, indicating they were working as a team. Imagine being caught in a hammer and anvil ambush.

I have been attacked by multiple ships at once but it is pretty rare. Generally they don't want anything to do with you unless you have just killed once of their faction buddies. Try leaving a ton of something in your hold and that should attract some attention.

The only thing I have seen that was even close to proper teaming is probably a complete coincidence but it was pretty scary. I was hunting at a nav beacon and all of a sudden 2 elite Sidewinders armed with railguns jumped in and stormed straight at me. They appeared to be flying in format (like the big space cows with their 2 Sidey escorts do) but I will admit that after taking a railgun to the face in my Eagle I was far more concerned with demonstrating my Rincewind impression.
