Ship Builds & Load Outs Combat Dolphin?

Was a thread about this a while back started by Goemon. Think we eventually worked out for PVE the best bet is a couple of missile launchers IIRC?

I suck with rail guns though - its the lag from them firing! if they did small PA then we would be talking! is there a video?

there is one for sure, but how to find it.

you'll get better with railguns fast. one of the best tricks i learned doing target practice in high RES is, fitting a small fixed (efficient) beam, which works as a laser pointer.

i fly a sidey sometimes in high res... small focussed burst and overcharged MC corrosive. same could go on a dolphin, but the damage is still pityfull.

so, i strongly suggest to go the whole mile, and not only going to be the horror of RES and CZ in a dolphin, which will already bring some bragging rights with it, but learn to use railguns with it. the damage of every other c1 hardpoint is just too stupidly low.

high res with medium and large ships spawning are the best place for target practices - just help out the system security.

another option could be dumbfire missiles ... in ammo increased racks. i'm using seekers on my dolphin for mission running with that special that converts damage to thermal. works nicely as a defensive weapon, but as those are not ammo increased, i can't even kill an interdicting npc viper.
 
I remember watching it, the commander nearly cooked the Dolphin firing the railguns! but it performed quite well apart from the heat build up, I had a quick look on the forum but it may have been in the Beta forums so no sign I'm afraid.

I reckon the Dolphin would make a good railgun platform as it has medium agility, something twitchy like a Vulture or an Asp S isn't that easy to use railguns on in my experience

the dolphin as an insane yaw, which helps a lot with using railguns.
