You could always run a class 1 bi-weave shield it's very viable as the regen and broken regen is amazing.

That's just by virtue of there being less capacity to regen, it's a trade-off you should be wary of! Though certainly in the Eagle's case, it's better to bet on regen and speed/agility than on (effective) capacity.

It's why I went with a Bi-Weave on mine, the max capacity of standard shields didn't seem to last long anyway, and the time to regen left me vulnerable for too long. If I'm getting pummelled, the Bi-Weaves don't seem to last any less in practical terms, and get back online much quicker. The best tactic is to get out of the firing line faster, and regen faster IMO.

I've now upgraded my starter sidey to the eagle. Loving it.

I'm also going full FA-off with this save and basically being a wandering bounty hunter. Currently only have A grade FSD for travel and B/C stuff elsewhere. Only have a couple of t's of cargo as I have put in my loaded SRV bay from my sidey in there. As I'm not pirating per se I haven't worried about cargo. I'm hoping that as my skill increase with FA-off i can reduce the size of the Bi weaves etc as well.

I have half the money I need. Another good run of missions tomorrow in the Sidewinder and I'll have it.

Congrats, man. Have fun in that thing. She's a hell of a ship, and aside from heavy hauling, you can do anything in her.

When you do decide to upgrade, keep her. Hell, keep two. I do :)
