I've been enjoying Elite Dangerous for a couple of weeks now, but am finding its PVE combat to be very difficult.
I'm relying solely on small returns from trades as my primary source of income as I'm having trouble completing missions in my Sidewinder and getting close to affording an Eagle.
I have an x52 Pro flight stick, so maybe that is part of the problem. I've noticed a lot of youtubers who make tutorial videos are using mouse and keyboard and their aim is significantly more nimble than mine on the joystick.
I've recently learned that missions involving bounties are a great way to earn money quickly in the early stages of the game. However, I haven't been able to complete any yet.
My experiences in conflict zones thus far involve taking an enemy's shield offline and then immediately being perused by 5+ other enemy ships at once without any noticeable help from the faction I've aligned myself with. At that point I find it nearly impossible to outmaneuver them all and end up dying a short time later.
Despite these early stage frustrations, I'm enjoying the game a lot, especially the sense of scale they've managed to accomplish. I'd love to get over this learning curve I've encountered and any suggestions, tips, or other help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
