Combat logging ban in solo?

I know you can be banned from the game for combat logging in open, but can you also be banned for combat logging in solo mode?

I would like a mod or frontier person reply please as this is to settle an argument and we have $50 bet on it (so need official proof one way or the other)

Thanks

see this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/105778-“Combat-Logging”-Update

"For clarity’s sake, “combat logging” is when a Commander ungracefully exits the game (e.g. using ALT + F4 then shutting down the game process) to avoid defeat, destruction and damage.

Commanders might use this exploit the moment they are interdicted or the moment before they are about to be destroyed.

Although this is flagged primarily as a multiplayer concern, the issues (and solutions) apply equally to the single player game."

- do i get a fair share of those 50 dollars?

Yes, all modes are equal.

The net result is the same if you do it against players or npc's. You are using non-game exploits to affect the game. Therefore it's an offence since the rule is not about the effect on the attacker.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Lol....banned?.....never known it myself..some peeps have done a lot worse than that and they are not banned.

For combat logging? In any mode....nah

I saw a reddit post once where a CMDR was complaining about being shadow-banned for combat logging. I don't remember the mode or modes he was in. I also saw one conversation in a chat room that showed a copy of a message from Frontier explaining that a person was temporarily excluded from the game (or something to that effect) for a period of time for misusing network connections or some such.

I didn't take screenshots or save links because these were not relevant or important to me. But, it's evidence that FD does something.

And how will FDev "punish" a solo combat logger hmm? They cannot ban him from logging in (huge legal headache). They could ban and refund (not much of a punishment since he can always buy a new account).

So yup. Solo combat logging is effectively permitted as there are no consequences.

People have been banned from video games/accounts they bought/spent money in for breaking rules since as far back as it's been possible to monitor said breaches, that's a non-issue.

Combat logging is usually used by scrubs to avoid the financial consequences of a loss, a logical consequence to such cheating would be to enforce those consequences regardless, at first. Subsequent infractions should lead to a pure ban from the game.

Shadowban. Will never be able to connect with anyone else or affect the background simulation. Basically cut off from all online aspects.

Also try telling "huge legal headache" to the fine chaps over at Vac (steam anti-cheat), they've been known to block entire game accounts for cheating in one single game :p

Ahhh, so that's what became of offline mode...

OT:
Don't worry OP, you would never get banned straight away.
First step that would happen would be that you got issued a warning.
Personal opinion: Nobody has ever gotten shadow banned for combat logging, regardless of mode.
