I've used the 15 second timer to leave a CG to go and answer the door. I know I should have just high waked. I feel ashamed, as although there was no other players around I was in open.

With all respect I think you are wrong, they are still affecting everyone else's universe and are bound by the EULA they signed stating they would abide by the games rules. If they cheat and avoid the re-buy screen in solo it is not really too different imo. It basically means you can trade in a T9 without shields or weapons or fear of problems, interdiction = yank cable and login to be fine again.
I personally think Fdev will apply common sense and (as they are doing currently) send out warnings before enacting "punishments". Its not the greatest of cheats/exploits but it does make it quite easy to fly without risk.
