I wonder if there are any combat missions available ? So far I came across only transport/trade style missions. I got my eagle (lucky it was only 17 ly from where I started) and removed the cargo bay and put there fuel scoop instead + another laser. So I'm basically just flying around, doing some exploring and killing wanted when I find them but I was wondering if I can somewhere actually get some missions like escort, patrol, protection of mining ships or something like that. Or even join a military. Where should I look please ?

I can't speak for the rest of the galaxy, but I've certainly seen quite a few combat missions in Empire space - both assassination and anti-smuggler missions are regularly available at stations and outposts there.
Now I'm just about 3 jumps away from SOL. I was just kinda making my way there since yesterday to do some sightseeing and then I'd figure out what to do next. But thanks for tip.
