Combat Movement Speed suit-mod effects

I like to run-and-gun -- my preferred loadout when doing a ground CZ is a C-44, an Eclipse, and a Tormentor. With this in mind, I decided that one of the mods in my Dominator suit would be Combat Movement Speed. It's said that the mod removes the speed penalty for aiming down the sights.

Well, whilst running missions to collect materials, and fighting scavengers, I realized that I can't actually perceive any reduction in move speed while aiming my Tormentor or C-44 (those are what I have equipped on my Maverick suit).

So, now I'm wondering if I should really continue collecting materials for this mod.

Am I missing something? What's the actual point of this mod? Can anyone who's actually used it tell me what they think of it?

All I can imagine is that it doesn't actually reduce any penalty, but maybe it actually speeds you up while aiming? I don't know.

You're not seeing a reduced movement when you're like this?

It's one of the best Mod for combat, because it completely removes ALL movement penalties from all weapons:
  • moving while being in Aim-Down-Sight (ADS)
  • walking / running while just handling your weapon (i.e. "un-holstered").
  • air-born movements (when handling a weapon, in ADS or not).

Therefore the reduction is more visible with "heavier" weapons, like L-6 or the big rifles (Exec, Aphelion, AR-50).
You feel less reduction with your Pistol and SMG (Tormentor and C-44) because they're smaller weapons.
Smaller weapons have smaller penalty by default.

IIRC it reduces the moving speed penalty while aiming down sights (not completely remove it)
Then it removes the moving speed penalty while running with a heavy weapon unholstered (pistols will not incur a noticeable running speed penalty while unholstered)

Yep, it really is - especially for dual L6 setups, but not only

Alright, I swapped out my C-44 for an L6 and, yeah, I can tell the difference in the move speed when ADS with that. And I also notice the move speed reduction when just holding it in my hands.

So, now I'm torn. I see the validity of the mod, but I'm not sure I'll get any value from it. If there really is move speed reduction on the weapons I will be using, I truly and honestly cannot tell.

Now I'm thinking maybe I should go for Increased Ammo Capacity instead; though, my thought process for originally ruling that mod out in favor of Combat Movement Speed in the first place was that, while I do burn through ammo fast, the ammo resupply opportunities in the game are certainly not scarce.

Something that would help me make up my mind is knowing this: Does Combat Movement Speed allow you to keep sprinting while firing? That would be a big plus for me, I find it very annoying that firing my weapon cancels my sprint. I highly doubt this will be the case, because I can't think of any FPS offhand which allows you to sprint while firing, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Just for some background, and to provide some context if anybody has suggestions about my choices:

For the Tormentor, C-44, and Eclipse, I've already gotten them all to G5 and modded how I like them. All 3 weapons have Faster Handling and Greater Range. The two SMGs both have Stability and Increase Magazine; the Tormentor has Audio Masking and Noise Suppression.

The plan for the other mods on the Dominator suit is Faster Shield Regen (already installed), Night Vision, Improved Battery Capacity. The decision for Improved Battery Capacity was made after doing restore missions at larger bases that had large numbers of pre-spawned scavengers. Recharge opportunities in CZ are plentiful, but locating those little unmarked battery boxes in a pitch-black abandoned settlement during the heat of battle can be kind of a pain in the ace.

I never bothered with it. I always get faster handling, so you can holster/unholster quicker, which also makes switching weapons quicker. If i need to move fast, i just holster.

I think it's a complete removal of the penalty.

I highly recommend reading Toqueville's guides, it explains everything very well!
